Brasilia International School (BIS) is a preschool - 12th grade private school established to meet the educational needs of the international community in Brasilia. BIS is a caring learning environment based on a Biblical world-view. BIS prepares international students to be life-long learners, effective communicators, responsible citizens, healthy people, and spiritually sensitive individuals. Students from all countries, cultures and religious backgrounds are welcome at BIS and are treated with respect and fairness, including the Federal Republic of Brazil, its leaders, and people.
Brasilia International School is a member of the global school system known as the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS). BIS is one of eighteen NICS schools in fifteen different countries.
Like all schools that are members of NICS, BIS is a non-denominational organization that provides a high quality North-American style of education in English. The curriculum provides an excellent foundation for continued studies in other international schools and post-secondary studies in the United States, Canada, England and other countries that follow a similar academic structure.
BIS believes that each student is a unique creation of infinite worth, and each student is encouraged to pursue academic excellence. The programs at BIS provide enrichment in intellectual, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual areas. By providing a low student-teacher ratio, BIS helps students with varying abilities and learning styles to achieve their full potential. Students are encouraged to make wise choices as they interact with peers and teachers within the school community. As students learn to behave responsibly at school, they gain the necessary life skills to become successful leaders who will positively impact the world.
Brasilia International School offers educational opportunities without regard to ethnic or national origin, race, color, religion, sex, creed, age, or disability.
